Hi all, and congratulations on making it to the 40th day of school (and after Halloween on a Wednesday, you all deserve a massage and a yacht)! My year so far has been both rough and rewarding, as I'm sure many of yours' has. I hope that you are all able to look back on what you have done so far with pride, and look forward with inspiration. Or at least with the knowledge that the winter break is only seven Monday's away...

A while ago (or maybe two seconds ago, who knows), I posted about these FREE number puzzles I was using as math centers. I wanted to update you on how they were working in my classroom, and give some ideas for extension activities as students get more comfortable with the activity.

So here's what it looks like when my students are making the puzzles...

As an extension, I'm having students count the things they see inside the puzzle, not just lining up the numbers or image. Most images have something that can be counted, like trees or clouds, and I'm finding that the conversations once the puzzle is done are just as rewarding as lining up all the numbers!

Aaaand as we head into November, I know many of you are gearing up for conferences. Especially in kindergarten, since we recently met families for Family Connection Conferences, it can be easy to feel like conferences are something to get through. I know I feel that way sometimes! But I have an agenda that helps me make the most out of that precious time with families, so if you are searching for a way to make conferences more meaningful, take a look at my agenda here! It's 100% FREE and meant to be a catalyst for meaningful conversations with families.

That's all for now, folks!

Teach on!
